Prokaryote

Eukaryotes

Prokaryotes
  • Lack a membrane around their nucleus.
  • Contain very little specialized organells.
  • They have a cell membrane.
  • DNA is in circular form.
  • They are only unicellular.
  • Example: all bacteria

Eukaryotes

  • Have a membrane around their nucleus.
  • Have many specialized organells with membranes around them.
  • Have DNA is in linear form.
  • Have a cell membrane.
  • Can be either unicellular or multicellular.
  • Examples: Plant Cells (Plant Kingdom), Fumgi cells (Fungi Kingdom), Protists (Protist Kingdom), and Animal Cells (Animal Kingdom).
